The Learning Centre Has Begun

As most of you know my daughter Aaryanna has begun kindergarten this year. She has had a few "difficulties" that have spurred Fred and myself to rethink how we "educate" the kids. Anyways I started thinking that I should create a "Learning Centre" for the kids in the family room. This is to help them start using the computer and promote a happy learning environment that focuses on "playing" while educating. So we have: a computer centre, puzzle, writing and coloring centre, TV watching centre (LOL had to throw that in), our music centre (piano, keyboard, Aaryanna's little percussion drums), and open space for Lego and blocks. I also put the alphabet train Mike's mom made him up (which he was kind enough to donate). I have moved all the toys into our old den.

So I worked away at this as well as getting rid of toys and collecting toys to go to my mothers and my sisters. I have made huge progress and I can't wait to show you all. I actually started to think I would like to work down there.LOL. Fred also agrees that it is a really nice room and he may set up his own desk.

I would like to get more "kindergarten" style things like the big alphabet letters, shapes, numbers and colors. We also want a whiteboard for the kids and different kinds of stuff. So I will keep you all posted and maybe if someone with a digital camera comes by I will take pictures to add in here. The kids are super excited about the learning centre but I don't have the computer wireless yet, nor do I have any kids games, etc on it yet.

Well Love you all lots and hope to hear from you

It is all over for another year

Yeah! So we all lived through christmas. It was a lot of fun and a lot of chaos.

I am gearing up for the New Year. We have nothing planned to do, but I am gearing up ffor school. I just about had a complete sh^% fit when I looked at the cost of my books. I was quoted at over $350 for 6 weeks worth of courses. What the hell....I then figured out that they were actually quoting the books 3 times and that it really was only $117...not as bad.

I looked after my niece and nephew today. Having a little bit of trouble as Aaryanna and Tyler want to "snuggle". Their snuggling is Aaryanna lying on top of Tyler. Although they are only 5 and 6 I feel slightly awkward about this and am not sure how to deal with this new dilemma. I just keep telling them not to with no further explanation. AAAHHHH! Why me? Calgon take me away....

So yeah, I will try and start our new annual girls camp out. Yeah. Well ciao as my hubby has come back bearing gifts...beer and cigarettes. Boy does he know the way to my heart.

Happy Holiday's

So yeah we are almost there. I have finished cleaning the house as of yesterday, all groceries are bought and we have watched some Christmas shows.

So now I have prepped for a small Christmas eve gathering (I made piazza crusts, cut meat, etc). So I thought I would leave an update. My cousin Debbie phoned me this morning in a panic. I guess someone had called their house and said they would be arriving in 30 minutes. LOL well they thought it was me and so she thought I was giving her a surprise visit (very unlikely I would drive 3 hours to her house without letting her know). She was totally panicking because her house was a mess, etc. Ha! Ha!Ha! I totally wouldn't do that to someone.

Well I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas. I am going to post my Friend Paula's picture of her and her family. She called me yesterday but I didn't get to talk to her. So here is to her and her lovely family

MERRY CHRISTMAS

So I am done all my christmas shopping

Yeah I am done, I am done! I have bought all my gifts and wrapped most of the gifts. All I have left is to finish wrapping, buy food for the dinner and clean my house. Yeah!

I have been extremely saddened by the news today. Another young girl was assaulted in Wetaskiwin yesterday. I also found out about a horrible rape/murder that happened in April I had not been previously aware of. Apparently a group of older teens and a 34 year old man decided they would like to kill somebody....but first they wanted to have sex so they needed a girl. Well to make a horrific story worse they first wandered WEM to select their victim or as they called her "the chosen one", a beautiful 13 year old girl was chosen.

What is even more confusing about this story is that there were girls involved in the group of killers? Why would they participate with their boyfriend(yes these male murderers were their boyfriends) to rape and murder a 13 year old girl? Also they brought this girls friend (the one muredered) along and let her live????What the hell was going on here.

Anyways I am shocked. I realise that many women are killed every minute of the day and are brutalised, but I will never get over this. My heart goes out to all these peoples family and friends. In one report of this girl they seemed to suggest...I think it was MP that were discussing how parents of the girl were somewhat responsible in their neglect to look after their daughter? Whatever, what about the sick jerks who murdered and raped her? I think they deserve slow painful deaths. That young girl was scared, alone and in pain.

Well let us all take the time and remember that poor girl.

Okay I am coming down from my crazy christmas grinch

Well now that I am not so busy I am starting to look forward to my christmas. How could I be such a jerk off to begrudge the luck to have so many friends and family? I am starting to actually wrap presents and have boughten most things...Hurrah! I hope anyone who reads this takes a grain of salt when they here my whinning. I just sort of get a little over excitable when I am busy.

So what I have left are a few toy items for the kidlets. This is a real struggle because I am totally not sure what to get kids...mine are not "consumerised" yet due to the lack of cable television. Any helpful hints would be gladly recieved.

Well cheers and goodnight.

Potty Training

So some of you know that Fred and I have been trying to potty train Hayden. Well the daycare went through a loss of some of its phenomenal staff and Hayden's potty training took a huge turn. He had been successfully peeing in the potty, however the old poop was something he really was not going to do at this time. Well we have begun again the training on the potty, but keep encountering frustration as the daycare is not being consistent on their end.

Well what I decided to do was use my trusty internet to look up possible reasons/solutions to the potty dilemma. What I found was kind of interesting and I thought I would share this with all. Apparently it is quite normal for children to master the peeing early, however poop is different. With poop they say it can take till they are 4 1/2 to figure out. Apparently there is different muscle control and children do not always sense it, so this is news to me. So I feel pretty crappy for getting mad at Hayden and plan to drop the poop issue and just focus back only on peeing.

So yeah. Give my little guy a break and remember this if you ever have kids or have friends that may go through this. It is normal! Not that any of you have given me a hard time...LOL.

Okay maybe I will have some great topic later

Hey so technology is really cool unless you don't know how to use it

Yeah. So maybe some of you got some sort of invitation to view some pictures....maybe not. I am not entirely sure that the thing was sent or how the hell to use it, Whatever.

My kids are totally driving me crazy. They have turned into the great whiners and tattletalers extrodinare. Hell its always "HAAAAAYYYYDDDDEEEN did -----to me" or "Nana did.....to me". Christ learn how to defend yourselves and stop bugging me! Ha great matherly attitude. I will feel bad about this statement later, but now am just tooo irritable.

Fred is in a terrible mood. Seems he is ready to go off about something or other. WHo cares I am ready and waiting....like a spider.

So my sister added to my blog...thank you very much. I appreciate all the attention I have been getting....LOL.

I have finished an exam today on the ethics of teaching. Lovely class, but I feel I may have taken quite a plunge as I totally seemed to be unable to make any sense whatsoever. One more final to go. I will see if I get any studying done or merely try to avoid it like the plague.

So I am going to try and be productive. I will sign off. Feel free to start a rant all of your own....it is very theraputic.

why does everyone seem so entitled to my world?

I live with my husband two children 3 & 5 and my husbands ADULT son. However I am the only one who cooks and cleans. Yup, of course I seem to have NOTHING BETTER TO DO!!!

Sometimes I must say I am so sick and tired of bloody looking after everyone. This life sucks. Maybe all those lazy slugs could look after their bloody selves.

Christmas is on the way

Well christmas is fast approaching. I have made a fatal error of over inviting....30+ people with kids AHHHH! To top this off I now have to come up with more gifts, especially for all the coming kids. How did life become one expense to the next. No wonder nobody wants to have big parties, you become obligated to come up with gifts.

I am avoiding right now writing a paper for my nasty professor. She is one of those professor's who find themselves astounding in every way and need to constantly reinforce their superiority. Well I at least only have one more day of my life to spend with her. If I ever see her on the street in the future I will remember to run over her.

Well I hope I can get better organised to include some photo's. Might need a digital camera for that though.
